Synopsis

A hardworking Australian high school teacher takes care of her elderly Czech mother. When she is offered a promotion at work, she is confronted with the tough choice of picking between her professional obligation and her familial responsibility.

Director’s Bio

Anna Dvorak is a trilingual filmmaker from Sydney, Australia with a Czech and Slovak background. Anna’s previous work has been recognised internationally by many notable festivals including Flickers‘ Rhode Island International Film Festival, Byron Bay International Film Festival and Canberra Short Film Festival. In 2024, Anna’s short film The Choice To Love is streaming on SBS on Demand in Australia and Anna is continuing to work on numerous other productions.
