Synopsis
In the year 1700-and-something, a merry trio of pirates unearth a stash of riches on the beach of a remote island. But when carelessness sees their boat taken by the tide, they are quick to turn on one another and squabble over their prize. To make matters worse, the three learn that they're not alone on the island. A tribe of pint-sized inhabitants are interested in far more than their treasure. The pirates have to get past their greed and come together if they stand any chance of escaping with the loot, and their skins, intact.
Director’s Bio
Raised in Christchurch and Auckland, with an adventurous three-year departure to Papua New Guinea, Kris Brown is a self-taught Kiwi filmmaker, now based in Bonn, Germany. Until recently, Kris' creative and professional background was in animation. However, a deep yearning to escape from the computer and connect with nature and people (in person) drew him to the live-action arena. With his swashbuckling debut short, 'YARGH!', he managed to achieve exactly that while also playing "pirate" on the gorgeous beaches of his homeland with friends and family.
